Alexandr Poshivay

Born: 1958.

Education: Leningrad Admiral Makarov Higher Naval Engineering School, specialising in Maritime Navigation (1981). Saint-Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, specialising in Accounting and Audit (2005).

After graduation from the naval school Mr Poshivay worked on vessels of the Baltic Shipping Company. In 1992 he moved to INFLOT Maritime Agency to work as control engineer. From 1992 to 2008 he held management positions in AOZT Arctur and was Director General of CJSC Arctur Travel. From 2008 to 2009 he held a position of Advisor in the Federal Agency for Fishery. In 2009 he was appointed Head of Administration of the Federal Agency for National Emergency Reserve. In 2010-2011 was Deputy Head of the Administration of the Federal State Reserve Agency for the North-Western federal district. In 2011 he held a position of Deputy Head, then Head of the Navigation Office of the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport. From 2012 to 2020 was Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport. From 2020 to 2021 headed the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport. On 26 January 2021 he became Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation.

Mr Poshivay has been elected to the Board of Directors of PAO Sovcomflot in 2021.
