On 27 February 2020, a working meeting took place between Sergey Frank, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PAO Sovcomflot (SCF Group) and Andrey Nikitin, Governor of the Novgorod Region. Also participating in the meeting were Ilya Klebanov, a member of the Board of Directors of Sovcomflot and Chairman of the Board of Guardians of the Captain Varukhin Maritime Centre, and Arkadiy Varukhin, Deputy Director of the Captain Varukhin Maritime Centre. The meeting was held in the Moscow offices of Sovcomflot.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the results of their collaboration in 2019 within the scope of the trilateral relationship between PAO Sovcomflot, the Captain Varukhin Maritime Centre, and the Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping, as well as planned events due for implementation in 2020.
Sergey Frank noted that support for occupational maritime education remains one of the main focuses of SCF Group’s sponsorships. The Group is interested in the ongoing professional development of its workforce through Russian educational institutions, and in strengthening cooperation with career guidance organisations.
